Believe me, they have been. In my KE office, associates are miffed that laterals from low ranked law schools, or low ranked firms, are coming in and getting huge signing bonuses, while they get nothing. KE values laterals above all else though, so no surprise.lavarman84 wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 1:47 amIt feels like the solution is to lower their standards. Might be lacking a supply of midlevels with the right skill set willing to come in and get absolutely crushed like that though.lavarman84 wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 1:47 amIt feels like the solution is to lower their standards. This likely isn’t the type of thing where you can just throw first years right out of school at the problem and expect it to help.

Those pre-existing associates need to individually demand retention bonuses. Closed mouth don't get fed.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 2:14 amBelieve me, they have been. Also lmfao@ being "miffed" about laterals from low ranked law schools. Logo facing out hasn't lost a step.

Re: What’s the Limit?
Has anyone noticed work slowing down a bit in cap markets? I think so with the SPAC bubble pop. For context, I’m a new lateral and have not been staffed on anything new currently/my other deals are on hold. Could just be a blip.
