Re: Dual Monitors or Ultrawide
I'm a big fan of the ultrawide (mine is 43") "main" screen that is centered (often used with documents snapped to either side) and then an auxiliary (mine is currently 32", but smaller would be fine, it's just the one I had before the 43" and I didn't see a reason to buy a new one) that is off to the side that is great for less active windows like email/chat clients etc.
I also usually do my reddit/TLS/news browsing on the 32" as it kind of helps separate "work" from breaks.
ETA: another big point that should be mentioned, if you can absolutely use wall mounts or monitor arms that clamp to the back of your desk vs. traditional stands. The extra space on your desk is huge and it looks better (also usually more flexible).

It is expensive, but you could get the Samsung CRG9 49'' ultrawide and use the picture by picture function to create two 16:9 monitors without any third-party software, while also retaining ultrawide flexibility. Best of both worlds described by the posters above.

Agree, using PBP is probably the best idea if you want the best of both worlds. Most 49" monitors will have the PBP function - you'll just have to connect two HDMI/DP cables to the same computer so it essentially acts as two screens. But keep in mind most 49" monitors aren't IPS panels and are VA/TN panels which can look pretty washed out in favor of higher hz and lower response times.lsatprepguy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 8:50 amIt is expensive, but you could get the Samsung CRG9 49'' ultrawide and use the picture by picture function to create two 16:9 monitors without any third-party software, while also retaining ultrawide flexibility. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding home office chairs? The Herman Miller Aeron chair is widely considered the best but I dont want to spend $1,400.
