I’m in a similar situation with looking even though I like my firm. Why exactly are you looking?
I like my firm, but I’m looking to move cities. My firm’s satellite in the city I’m trying to go to doesn’t have any partners in my practice group, so work would be iffy.

That’s the main reason. I’m also looking for market bonuses and all that stuff, but not as important

Have you thought of moving cities within your firm so that you can more easily make the leap to a different firm? Seems like being in the city you want to work in would be helpful in obtaining another position there.
