Miller Nash Graham & Dunn Seattle. Their office is literally on a pier. It's pretty sick.

Milbank has already been called out. I thought Willkie had fantastic views, but was pretty underwhelmed with the office/main lobby. Just didn't really feel like biglaw. Didn't love Kasowitz either.I'm more interested in which NYC firms have the worst offices.

Views, maybe, but the office is basic. Not even close to being the nicest.oblig.lawl.ref wrote:KE SF has amazing views. Let's let them have this.

Cleary offices are kinda shabby in a homey wayjbagelboy wrote:Gibson Dunn Los Angeles office is breathtaking.
Davis Polk and Cleary both have beautiful Manhattan offices.
Orrick's SF headquarters is pretty cool.

An Arch/Busch stadium view would be pretty sick.sublime wrote:Although I generally agree, I know somebody in StL that has/had a perfect view overlooking Busch Stadium, and that seemed pretty sweet, despite being in StL.tfer2222 wrote:Agree to a certain extent. In NYC most first/second years share a window office (mine had a pretty sick downtown view from 50th floor). Sharing an office can suck because of talking over each other/conference call issues/your office mate could suck/stress you out more. But if you get a good office mate its actually a lot of fun and I miss it over having my own office now.PeanutsNJam wrote:Offices where you have no windows for the first few (and probably only years) of your time at the firm hardly constitute "best office." The best ones are in secondary markets with lower real estate costs. Like, in SD, Latham has their own building in the suburbs.
A satellite office in a lower CoL area will almost certainly be superior to a NYC office because cost and space. Also unobstructed view.
and IMO, NYC/SF views >>>>> any views some satellite office could provide (whats there to look at?).
While I think Cleary's NYC office needs to be renovated, a lot of partners have amazing water/statute of liberty views. major downtown win over midtown.

Cleary's lobby and conference office space downtown has one of the more stunning skyline views imaginable. The individual offices are not always quite so clutch.Anonymous User wrote:Cleary offices are kinda shabby in a homey wayjbagelboy wrote:Gibson Dunn Los Angeles office is breathtaking.

Akin NYC - they have premium floors in what is probably one of the city's highest profile skyscrapers (BoA tower). Amazing views. Pretty sure there are articles online about how their lobby is used for tv/movies

Honestly, anyone saying anything other than Proskuaer either hasn't been there or is lying. It's not even close. And no, I don't work there.

Plus, the staff lounges on each floor look like this:

They probably don't have a problem getting CLE attendance in a room like this:

Don't want to take the elevator 2 floors? That's fine, take the scenic route:

I can't find non-partner offices. Partner offices don't count because they're all stunning. This "best office" metric should be restricted to an associate's experience.

I've seen many NY offices and LA offices. The LA offices are significantly nicer, many having a view of the Hollywood sign. The GT Miami is the norm in LA.

Skadden has the same views as Akin, but the offices themselves are nothing special. They are moving to Hudson Yards, too.

Re: Which firms have the nicest offices?
any firm moving to hudson yards will have super DOPE offices in a year or two. that includes boies, milbank, and skadden. not sure if there are others moving.
akin nyc has a nice office as does GDC.
as far as some of the shitty offices in new york:
willkie has fantastic views but the offices themselves are pretty shitty. low ceiling, very cramped, and dirty beige-ish/gray-ish carpets everywhere. and pretty small offices for associates.
cahill was probably the worst office ive ever been to.
white & case has a terrible office in a terrible location (right by times square). i know they are moving to the mcgraw hill building next spring, but ive seen the pictures they had around and it didn't seem great at all. certainly an improvement over the dump they have now, but nowhere near akin or GDC.

Sidley's Dallas office looks awesome. They got the penthouse in the newest and most expensive building in the city.

K&E's Houston office could give it a run for its money though. They also leased the penthouse in the newest and most expensive building in the city
