This is one of the more mastubatory threads on TLS and that's saying a lot.

It's awful. The thread should be locked and/or OP should be outed or banned.

This thread is basically a TLS tradition. It's anonymous data gathering. I don't really see the issue.

The data is neither new nor useful. Are these forums always this ego-centric around this time of year?

So don't read the thread if it bothers you so much.

People end up posting with their low numbers and dings as well. It allows people within similar brackets of schools to see how their peers are doing, and many people find it useful.

It doesn't bother me so much as it just fills the front page with garbage. OCI, no matter where you go to school, is a crapshoot (see, e.g., http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 3&t=267688). Firms only have so many spots to offer so the difference between 10 and 6 CBs could be random factors that students have no control over. I wouldn't necessarily think that someone with 10 CBs was a better candidate than someone with 5. Someone already mentioned it above: 1 CB is all you really need; and that's all that matters.

To the extent any of these threads are actually useful, they don't really become that way until after the dust has settled and everyone has final results, not in August.

For live time OCI stuff the school-specific threads are probably more helpful.

I'm not going to lock it because TLS is gonna TLS but it's all part of reading the tea leaves.

Stats are top 25%, Law Review, Legal Writing TA, and 4 years of work experience prior to law school.
