Responding to above anon, there are a small handful of people that dicked me over in law school or that I personally worked with and did something that really peeved me. Actually probably like 2 or maybe 3
But, u bet your ass, if that one associate editor on my journal when I was an exec editor who literally did fucking absolutely nothing and blew me off, if I ever get the opportunity to weigh in on them I will not hesitate to be honest. I lost multiple nights of partying during 3L to that asshole

Edit*: AND, as a 2L SA, would you hesitate to be honest if your problems with someone had anything to do with just your personal opinion of them, or something you heard through the rumor mill? I mean maybe this is dependent on the law school. At mine, I never took any classes or worked with the 1Ls because they were in classes by themselves, and can't join journals till 2L year. Obviously what I said doesn't apply for special cases where the people worked together at some random place before ending up at the same law school one year apart, or people who went to college together, etc.
I'm the above anon btw.

No, that hadn't happened to until 3L, but it could have happened earlier for sure. There are plenty of ways you can earn a bad reputation even at law school. On my journal you reviews peoples' work of your same class year as 2Ls too, so I'm sure the person above annoyed some of his fellow 2Ls too. 1Ls even still have plenty of opportunity to flake on work and piss people off. Small group projects, extracurriculars, etc.
Though, I'd only do this for egregious things, if u reallllly pissed me off. But I'm also a much more chill guy than many other biglawyers
No, in the hiring context, I wouldn't repeat some rumor to a partner or recruiter

that's true i guess. i feel the same way though, i wouldn't bother doing this at any level in my career unless i was really pissed off, though I'd hope to be able to help any alums from my school/s if i could. maybe we're both just more chillballouttacontrol wrote:I didn't but I could've.
