I'm Penn c/o 2015, working in Philly now (government/PI). Feel free to PM me with any questions. I'm not in biglaw obviously but I can hopefully still give some solid advice, especially about Philly (which is such a weird market right now).

I hope you all are happy with your bid results. I got quite a few firms which I'm glad about but missed a few I was really hoping to interview with. I've reached out to most of them already but what is the movement like on the waitlist? I cannot imagine many cancellations happen.

There's some decent, albeit not great, waitlist movement. I think I snagged three or four more interviews from the waitlist. Also, one of the ways I was able to score more interviews was by coming back to the OCI site at the end of the day to see the screener openings for the next day and getting there pretty early to sign up for slots that fit with my schedule.Anonymous User wrote:I hope you all are happy with your bid results. Yeah I definitely think there are ways to get interviews at some of the firms you didn't get on your bid list. Even if cancellations don't happen, firms always have more room for the right kind of candidate and after the right kind of approach.Anonymous User wrote:There's some decent, albeit not great, waitlist movement. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I think I remember people talking about just approaching the people at the tables by their interview location or something is that worth anything? I have a very good GPA and would probably have already mass mailed them if its relevant.

So I have started getting CBs and Dings from regional OCI and figured this thread should be bumped.

Has anyone heard from A&P in SF--they are the only firm left that has not sent anything that I thought I did well with.Anonymous User wrote:I've heard of an Orrick SF CB

Posting about rumors of callbacks is something we should avoid. I disagree with the entire practice of posting about CB and offer information to begin with, but especially when it's unfounded, it should be avoided. At least when you're right, one of the X number interviewed is not needlessly stressed out since that person got a CB/offer. When you're wrong, all of those who interviewed are needlessly stressed.

Re: Penn OCI 2016 (C/O 2018)
At HLS last year, one of the magic circle firms flew some of their callbacks to London (had nothing to do with scheduling, the invitation for cb states whether you are going to London or NY) while others to NY. Incidentally all their London cb's got offer while many of the NY cb's did not get an offer.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know if the London based firms will actually fly you out to London if you snag a callback? Or do they just conduct callbacks in NY? Now would be a pretty good time to have free airfare and lodging in London, could get a pretty good vacation out of it for cheap

For me it's not just about worrying though, if you are scheduling CBs to the west coast I want to schedule them as soon as possible but also have some idea of how many firms I have to schedule them with.Anonymous User wrote:Posting about rumors of callbacks is something we should avoid. So even a rumour is enough for me to go ahead and schedule even if I am not out of hope.

Re: Penn OCI 2016 (C/O 2018)
I figure this may be useful for those who don't want to post, or just to collect in an easy to read format. This is just a very basic two question form (firm & city) that people can fill out to keep a running total.
https://[link redacted]/forms/WFJLdz8o5l3T5YMA2 <-- form
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... dA/pubhtml <-- Results
I'm not sure how much this will be used, but figured worth the 2 minutes to put together.
