I wore a skinny tie to all of my interviews and callbacks and I did fine with the very conservative firms. If you're slim and it looks good/professional, I don't think anybody is going to care.

6'2" and 155. Wore skinny ties throughout OCI/callbacks - didn't hurt me at all. Would do again.

Not inherently inappropriate for court, but the judge(s) will notice. If a judge already wants to hate you, you don't want the thing they call you out on to be your tie.

Do what you want in the office. Court is a different matter. Best to be conservative there.
