I've sworn off true all nighters (though I keep doing them). It's better to just get two hours of sleep.

I can stay up for a long time, but my productivity goes to shit after about 24 hours, and the recovery time is no bueno.

for all the 0Ls playing along at home, thats like 500 hours in 5 weeks. thats probably more work than 50% of full time employed people will do in a year. good luck man. dont die.

But still, that's an ungodly amount of work that I would wish on no one.

1 billable hour != 1 hour spent at work.

The average California state worker spends like 31 hours a week on Facebook, 4 hours a week aggressively gaining weight, and 5 hours a week actually working, so 500 billable hours might be a high estimate.

yep. ask your non-law friends how much of the work day they actually work. i think youll be surprised at the number of 10-25% answers.

Desert Fox does reading e-mails on a thread of a team you're on when they don't directly involve you and you don't reply to them count as billable time? Say you're reading it just to keep up with a case but aren't important.

junior v25 here.

Billing 100 is some next level stuff. I've been consistently busy but not overwhelmed for the last month running my first production and I've been working 8a-8p 7days/week.

My efficiency is pretty good imo and i've been billing 70/week. I could prob push this to 80 and be functional but beyond that I know I would start getting crazy.

I'm not sure if its worse or better that we don't have them. Maybe you have them because its super busy and you guys pull all nighters. But nothing is worse than taking a 30 minute nap on carpeted concrete at 4:15am.

I have a futon now.

I have definitely had partners tell me I could nap on the couches in their (respective) offices if I was ever pulling an all nighter. At the time it was presented as a tone-deaf "how lucky you are to work for me!" perk; but it never actually felt like a perk until I read the bolded...

Slept ~90 minutes on Sunday night, but got 6 hours last night. But I probably won't sleep again til wednesday night. Maybe thursday morning.
