As some others have mentioned, I'd really like to know more about both DPW and K&E's 3L PT programs.

It seems relatively straightforward for Lit, but how on Earth does it work for transactional practices? Also, is it 20 hours or 20 billable hours a week? Is it work as much (up to 20)/as little as you want? Do you have to work every week (including finals)?

Obviously the money is great, but I'm not sure I'd want to start off my career at the firm in a situation where I'm probably going to end up doing subpar work

Pretty easy to do, and hard to balance with school workload. I'd rather save the fun for later and 3LOL. You'll have plenty of time to work later and not let people down by telling them, "whoops! Just hit 20!" This seems like a recipe for writing down your hours and working a lot past your 20 just so you don't make a bad impression
and paying $50k down in loans.
I can see this working for lit or for 3Ls attending NYC schools, but how can you do capital market, M&A, and other non-IP/financial regulations related transactional work remotely? I doubt many 3Ls interested in transactional work can get any where close to 20 hours/week (or even average 5 hours/week).

Law student,

We're still missing signatures on half the docs and the deal is supposed to close in two hours. Please update me ASAP.

Senior associate,

Sorry I'm in class until noon and then have a fed soc lunch (free Chipotle today!). I can start working on it then though, at least until tonight's softball game?

Sorry to necro, but does anyone know if this is still happening? Or does anyone have any details on part time work for 3Ls at DPW?
