Where I'm at, it's the computers re-booting at 2:30 am. Sometimes it's the subtle hint I need to go home. Other times it means that I'm going to lose 15 minutes of precious time to finish whatever emergency project I'm missing out on my kid's childhood for.

ya comps get weird around 3AM, too

I like to think that gremlins inhabit the machines and fuck everything up in the early morning hours before the partners arrive, demanding hard-copy drafts by 8AM.

this is also another secret - being a habitual line stepper isnt a thing because even if i got fired id just unemployment and take a vacation and find something enjoyable to do with my life.

I feel bad cause I'm fighting the minimum wage office support staff for the left over sandwiches. On one hand, half of them are legit hungry and need the food. On the other hand, I'm working until 10pm and will get hungry--and I have no sympathy or empathy for anyone who gets to go home at 5.

I don't use the IRS "legal disclaimer" in my e-mail signature because I think it's stupid.

It's the Circular 230 disclosure, applicable to tax opinions and advice. As of last year, it's actually not required anymore.

Required as part of some standard form disclosure irrespective of the content of the email.
