Not in NYC, but I'm assuming other big markets would follow suit. Yes, please, to more money. If it means a substantially higher billable expectation (I'm certain it wouldKM2016 wrote:All we want is more money. Is that so much to ask?!

this is impressively dumb for many reasonsalicrimson wrote:Not in NYC, but I'm assuming other big markets would follow suit. Yes, please, to more money. Bitch has thangs to do. My firm upped our rates this year, but there was no jump in billables or salary raise. I'm assuming they're using the extra $$$s to fill a swimming pool Scrooge McDuck style, but I have no confirmation on that...yet.

i've heard Foley & Lardner is taking Detroit and Milwaukee to $140-45+, up from ~$130. this comes from incoming summers and current 3Ls, but they haven't seen anything official.

Re: Biglaw Salaries going up?
imagine TLS and ATL had a reddit-yahoo type relationship whereby ATL blindly took info from TLS without looking into the context. Tomorrow morning we could wake up w/ ATL announcing NY to 190. DPW and co convene emergency compensation partner meetings and decide to raise to 190 to follow suit...cookiejar1 wrote:We did it TLS! NYC TO 190 ALL BUT CERTAIN

Well-placed source at V15 firm tells me that compensation committee is considering 5% bump to base salaries for associates at SF and DC offices.

Re: Biglaw Salaries going up?
I heard DPW to 185 also but then heard STB to 190 out of spite. So far unsubstantiated but I'm really pushing my sources to out the sources of their sources so I can get some confirmation.

Probably not, but there's no real reason to raise them anyway. We'll all keep going biglaw. My old boss graduated about 12 years ago and asked what the starting salary was these days. He thought it'd be around $200k by this time. We can dream.

Re: Biglaw Salaries going up?
Ah, the monthly "are salaries going up" thread. Count me in. NYC to 135k + up to 45k bonus to compete with consulting firms. Coming from an official source who says I'm their favorite son.
