I know Paul Hastings NY is still looking - just received a screener from them. I know a few other firms are still actively looking too. A number of my friends are still waiting to hear back one way or another on different firms, so the game isn't over yet. Good luck all.

Anonymous User wrote:given how egregious that DC office has been about soliciting apps, I have a feeling I know which.Anonymous User wrote:Not yet. Thought it was done for me but then today I received a V50 NY callback through mass-mailing and a DC callback for a firm I had interviewed with back at OCI.
It's a good firm, though. Good luck!
I know of the firm you're thinking of but it's actually not that one.

Re: When does the Biglaw ship sail?
I think this depends. I interviewed with mostly smaller satellite offices that only had SA classes of 1-5. I had 8 CBs and hadn't heard anything as of mid-September - I thought it was over. In this last week I've gotten 2 offers, both from firms I interviewed with over a month ago.Anonymous User wrote:How much longer do callbacks/offers keep coming out? I've heard some people still getting offers this week. But when is the cycle pretty much over and the summer classes full. Particularly interested in the LA market.
If you are interviewing with firms that have small SA classes, they will likely only give out offers per the number of spaces available and then wait for people to accept or reject. These firms can't as easily rely on a yield because having 1 more associate accept than they planned for will have a huge effect on budget if the office was only planning on having 1 or 2 associates to begin with (especially for firms that have less than 20 summer associates firm wide).
So for example, I have two extended offers right now. Once I make my decision, one of the firms will have another offer to extend. Which means, someone will be getting an offer potentially as late as October 1st.
Basically, this is just a round about way of saying that if you haven't been rejected from a smaller big law office at this point, you are likely on some kind of hold list and you could get an offer in October. So keep the faith and keep mass mailing!

lol good one. It's good to hear that there is still some movement. Guess it's not time to lose hope just yet!Anonymous User wrote:
They may be shouting "all aboard!" but the ship hasn't pushed off just yet.
Also, PH LA said their summer class was full.

It's not even October but from firms you've been waiting since early September it's bleak. But it's definitely not over yet. I would not fall into the trap of oh well let me get great grades and try again next year. Even if you got the grades it's a long shot. This next month is a better shot.
