do you think there will be some movement? are these firms just waiting to see how the first round of offers they made turn out?

Re: 0 offers club
Have had 7 CBs so far, 1 rejection, and was in the 0 offers club until this morning. Keep your heads up, keep mass mailing, and try not to think about it. Nothing you can do at this point but wait.
Edit: I should say that most of those 7 callbacks were weeks ago.

Congrats on the offer! Mind saying which market (or if it's NYC or non-NYC?)Anonymous User wrote:Have had 7 CBs so far, 1 rejection, and was in the 0 offers club until this morning. Keep your heads up, keep mass mailing, and try not to think about it. Nothing you can do at this point but wait.

Firms definitely do a sort of wait and see. My firm is looking for 6-7 and has offered about 12 people. Nobody took an offer yet. If we get 12 declines, we'll start offering people in our wait and see list.

not OP but firms are usually pretty good about knowing their yield. I have rarely heard of an offer being rescinded beyond the financial crisis of 08/09

How bad of a sign is it that recruiter did not respond to my follow-up email at all...

I don't know what would happen if everyone accepted, but last year we expected a 35% acceptance rate, but got over 50%. Everyone got an offer.Anonymous User wrote:So if everyone takes their offer, do they rescind?Anonymous User wrote:Firms definitely do a sort of wait and see. Re: 0 offers club
3rd year associate who was in this club way back in the day. Wanted to share my story for you guys:
It was OCI back in 2011 at my T14 (where i had barely above-average grades). I had just broken up with my SO and was feeling really down but got myself up for OCI. I managed to get 4 callbacks, none of which led to an offer. It was even more devastating as a I had perfect experience for a niche area. I called the niche area firm to ask them why I didn't get an offer, and the recruiter was honest and said I was going to get an offer but everyone who they offered prior to my callback accepted and therefor their summer class was already full before I even got to my callback.
I was completely devastated having struck out. Now I had both been dumped by my SO and had no future in the law. I would call my parents on a daily basis with panic attacks about having no future and all the hard work going to waste. It was extremely tough to be around school with all those people bragging about 13 offers to different top tier firms. Things got so bad that my parents threatened to cut off contact unless I saw a therapist. Begrudgingly, I obliged.
The therapy completely changed my life. I rebuilt self-confidence, found a new SO, and landed a really prestigious gov internship (none of which would have been possible with my previous attitude). The following fall some botique (market-paying) firm in my niche area underhired and I ended up getting the job.
I am still at this job to this day and continue to love it. Many of the friends who got the most prestigious jobs originally have been laid off for low hours, gotten divorced, or left the law entirely. Had it not been for that firm rejecting me to that BS reason, I would have ended up at that place (which it turns out is terrible as all of their associates leave 3 years in).
If you end up not getting an offer this OCI, I highly recommend taking some time in therapy to rebuild your confidence and continue to grind at it. Not getting a job at OCI turned out to be a huge blessing as I actually had to focus on what I want and accurately target it rather than taking the path of least resistance. And before you say that it wont happen to you and you are doomed, remember that others thought the same exact thing, best of luck to everyone on here.

Re: 0 offers club
First of all, I'm glad to hear you're in a good place. Depression's a b*tch, good for you. Second, this is the type of "inspirational" post I needed. I'm at a T10 and struck out at OCI. Been hustling the small and midsized firms, and you know what, I'm realizing that there might be another reason for not doing well at OCI. I think I'm a better fit for firms doing more niche work since my interests are pretty focused. I'm liking this round of interviewing much more than the "I wish to sell my soul for 160k a year" shtick. Anyway, thanks.Anonymous User wrote:3rd year associate who was in this club way back in the day. Wanted to share my story for you guys:

To me, that was the most alarming part of this post.
I'm glad you're doing better now.
