Anyone else still waiting to hear from a callback last week? Any others receive offers? For the guy who got the offer: did you get your email offer letter yet?

Re: Cadwalader CB --> offer
anyone else go straight to CB stage from a resume drop? I feel so dumb that I couldn't schedule the CB for 2 weeks bc of other (way less important) CBs.

Declined offer this week, so hopefully someone waiting will hear movement. Good luck, everyone!

It's been a month since my callback and I'd pretty much written it off, but today I got a phone call informing me that I am still being considered. Makes me think their recruitment is not going as well as they would like.

I can tell you this isn't true. They do take longer than other firms. Smaller class sizes and they want to make sure people are good fits. Don't get discouraged. The calling of candidates to tell them theyre still being considered is because they take a bit longer.Anonymous User wrote:It's been a month since my callback and I'd pretty much written it off, but today I got a phone call informing me that I am still being considered. Re: Cadwalader CB --> offer
If it was a fit issue I imagine they would have been in communication at some point in the past 5 weeks. If they weren't sure about fit immediately post-callback, they're not going to be any more sure about fit after a month of silence.Anonymous User wrote:I can tell you this isn't true. What it actually seems to indicate is that the candidate is a last resort on a hold list or that the group that wants them doesn't have the clout within the firm to get a SA. Neither of these things inspire confidence.

Declined after lots of deliberation. I was stunned at how much I liked the firm, and they were an unexpected player right up to the end for me. Good luck to everyone still waiting! Hopefully those of you who've been in limbo will see some movement this week or next!

Re: Cadwalader CB --> offer
I think I am also on some sort of hold. They have rejected some people, right? It seems like the majority of people either get an offer or silence. I'm not sure whether that means anything as far as their recruiting is concerned.
I will say that I didn't get a very good vibe from the firm. The recruiting people were nice and I really liked my screener, but I felt like they didn't put the best people in front of me at the CB stage if they were trying to sell me on the firm. Two of the interviewers were completely disinterested, one made an attempt but was pretty awkward, and one was legitimately personable. I mean, I realize you're being evaluated at the CB stage--it's not simply a recruiting thing--but you also hear people talk about choosing xyz firm because of how much they liked the people they interviewed with etc. So, I don't know, I'm still interested in the firm, but if my experience is similar to others, it wouldn't surprise me if people with a lot of options didn't go with Cadwalader.
Or maybe I'm just bitter because they haven't offered me.

Don't know the firm but I think you're overthinking it. Interviewing is a tedious process, frankly, and not everyone cares when asked to interview.

Most of this is probably the case. They consistently rank at the bottom of the barrel in associate surveys for culture, quality of life, partner relationships, and overall job satisfaction. I wouldn't be surprised if that comes through even in CBs.Anonymous User wrote:I think I am also on some sort of hold. They have rejected some people, right? High comedy use of anon. Those surveys are ridiculous for one. As a summer, my firm told us what scores to put so the rankings would be better.

It looks like Cadwalader no offered a couple summers last year, according to NALP. Anyone have any idea whether it was due to performance or if they just oversubscribed or something?

Do you mean 2013 summers? Or 2014. To my knowledge 2014 was 100%.Anonymous User wrote:It looks like Cadwalader no offered a couple summers last year, according to NALP. Anyone have any idea whether it was due to performance or if they just oversubscribed or something?

Yeah, sorry, was unclear. I meant the 2013 class. Glad it didn't happen this year, but I'm not sure if it was an anomalyAnonymous User wrote:Do you mean 2013 summers? Or 2014. They are committed to 100% offers. You really have to screw something up.Anonymous User wrote:Yeah, sorry, was unclear. I meant the 2013 class. Re: Cadwalader CB --> offer
does anyone have insight into a CB with the litigation dept? Thoughts on the people you met with? Were they more or less formal than other white shoe nyc firms? (I had a CB with another white shoe firm and the attire was business casual and the interviewees were much more relaxed and casual than I expected). Thanks!

Re: Cadwalader CB --> offer
I had interviewers from both litigation and corporate, but everyone was really laid back and pretty dressed down, actually. I think it may be partly a concerted recent effort since they've been working to improve their image over the last few years. They were not one of the more formal firms I've visited and I really liked the people I met in litigation, to the point where I'm leaning toward going here even though I didn't think I wanted to pre-cb.Anonymous User wrote:does anyone have insight into a CB with the litigation dept? Thank you for this response -- this was exactly what I was hoping to hear. Do you mind sharing how quickly you received your offer after your CB?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
