I did.Anonymous User wrote:Do we get an email confirmation after the offer?
Both do plenty of PE work. Simpson is lockstep and has centralized staffing plus no minimum billable requirement. Kirkland is free market and people get paid based on hours (and partners get paid based on business they bring in) so there is likely a more aggressive culture at K&E. You'll probably make more money at K&E but the trade-off is that there you'll always feel pressure when it's slow. At Simpson you'll have an easier time enjoying the slow periods because you aren't leaving money on the table by not billing and you aren't ever looking for your own work. Both styles work for different people.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone have any input for working at Simpson versus Kirkland?

For those of you that have offers thus far, how long was it between your offer and receiving anything official via email/ snail mail from recruiting? I received my offer via phone call on Saturday, yet don't want to cancel others until I have something official. Thank you.

Re: Simpson Thacher CB-- Offer
Kirkland pays bonus based on a combination of hours and merit. It weighs heavily towards merit after a certain hours threshold. They are very nice bonuses (significantly increasing your income, particularly at the more senior associate ranks), and slow times are not usually held against associates.Anonymous User wrote:I did.Anonymous User wrote:Do we get an email confirmation after the offer?

What? When did you interview?Anonymous User wrote:Offer letter yesterday via email, no phone call. Anyone else receive their offer this way? Also, did anyone else's offer letter contain a final paragraph about being an employee at will? Put me on edge a little bit, but I'm in love with the firm. Is this a "cold offer" for a summer position? (Not sure why such a thing would exist, I'm probably being paranoid).
