I recently started with the agency. I got my job through the advance commitment program (now renamed the Chair's Attorney Honor's Program). They still had it going over the past few years. This year they decided to make it "official" again, rebrand the program and re-open it up to people who didn't do an internship or the honors program with the agency. All of that to say, be prepared for this process to take several months. For me it took 3 months from interview to receive the initial offer. Another 2 months for the final offer. Unfortunately big fed moves a lot slower than the private sector.

Thank you so much for answering questions!

How are clerkships viewed? Any difference from COA to District?

That's interesting to hear that the advanced commitment was still going. I think it would be more accurate to say that the SEC over many years materially misrepresented the status of advance commitment to its interns.

No idea. Working at the SEC now with some other people who applied and none of us have heard anything either, as far as I know.

Any chance no one on TLS was selected for an interview?

I'm thinking that's the most likely scenario, but there's a little hope that they haven't given interview invites yet.

About to apply to the Spring Student Honors Program. Last fall I had my interview about two weeks after applying, so the timeline was pretty quick (although the final offer took awhile). Wonder if I'll hear something for that position before the Attorney Honors Program.

Still silence for me. Anyone hear anything or know what offices are getting spots?

I don't know what is taking so long, the application closed Aug 10th and there are only 500 apps max!

Still silence too. I'm going to guess that people have gotten interviews, but just aren't on TLS.

Honestly, I wouldn't even be too sure. If there were only, at most, 500 applications - you would think at least one person on here would have gotten an interview. Not to sound vain or anything but I would be shocked if I don't at least get an interview. I am still holding out much hope.
Stats? How are you so confident with 500+ apps for 10 spots?

Any info on what is taking so long?

Or are they already conducting interviews?

~complete silence~

It seem like they were moving aggressively with the "500 application" limit. That was months ago.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
