Know multiple people at Quinn who have over 3k hours . Think about that. That is literally billing 8.2 hours a day every single day of the year (so like working ten), Christmas and all holidays included. I am telling you as a biglaw associate 2k hours is tough and I see people literally cry at their desks at 2500, no concept of what 3k is like.
I had a friend who personally was told by two separate people in his Quinn interview not to come because they would be leaving soon due to it being a total sweatshop. Would not go there even if it was my only oci offer.

Incoming associate at another LA firm. I received an offer from Quinn, turned it down, and would not work there under any circumstances. The firm has extremely high turnover (e.g., it regularly fires first years for not billing enough, according to a former Quinn associate who I spoke with while making my decision as a 2L), a horrible work culture, and eats associates alive. I certainly would not pick it over Gibson, which is a premier LA firm and reportedly a decent place to work as biglaw firms go.

Yeah...I've never been to a networking reception where attorneys so casually spoke about 3000 hour billables, until Quinn.Desert Fox wrote:Quinn has a "low hours" list that gets sent to John Quinn if you bill less than 200 hours a month. Just LOL at it not being worse than normal.

This. It is so easy to just think "whatever, I can work a lot of hours. It's big law baby!" Then you realize how hard it is to keep yourself together when your work consumes every corner of your life and you are surrounded by (borderline(?)) sociopaths whose success depends on driving you to your breaking point. It can crush your soul. It can make you forget that you ever had a genuine interest in the law. I just don't see any way it is worth it.Know multiple people at Quinn who have over 3k hours . If you are splitting hairs between one prestigious big law shop and the next, pick the one that seems less likely to look down on an associate who bills "only" 2250.

lol everyone has a friend at quinn who is "billing 3000". Really nobody does, they just repeat stuff they read on the Internet. I can personally guarantee you that you will not get pushed out for billing "only" 2200 hours like people will suggest here
