Is not getting any preselect a sign that chances of receiving an offer are slim? Anyone has an idea if it's correlated?Anonymous User wrote:It might be. From last year's thread:Anonymous User wrote:That would be amazing, because that means we all have a shot still! Someone needs to (or please dont) post that they got one of the 2 so we can know if it is out. Also did anyone get Weil or Arnold & Porter?
Things may go out in a different order this year, but what this does mean is that it's at least possible not all of the firms have issued out their interview spots yet.Posted on the website.
Below is a list of employers that have not submitted their selections yet:
DLA Piper
Downey Brand
Fenwick & West
Kirkland & Ellis
Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Moresi
Morgan Lewis & Bockius
San Francisco District Attorney's Office
San Mateo County District Attorney's Office
Shute Mihaly & Weinberger
Weil, Gotshal & Manges
Please stayed tuned at this announcement board for the latest updates.
For reference, I got Kirkland, Orrick, Cooley, and DPW. I don't know if that means those firms have issued all their spots yet, but it's a data point.

Yeah, I'd say so, too. If they've given alternates, that probably means they've decided who all their pre-selects will be.Anonymous User wrote:Hmm I think WSGR and Fenwick are done if thats the case. I doubt one firm has waves.

It's not a bad question, dude. He's probably curious about what would happen if he got an interview via the lottery, having not been pre-selected, and if that would already signal that they didn't want him.fruitlobber wrote:What the hell are you talking about? Re: BADCF 2014
Not to give false hope, but last year's thread shows that some firms updated throughout the day (in other words, someone reported getting a firm at midnight, then someone else reported having their "Not Invited" changed to a pre-select later in the day for that same firm). Interpret that how you will.Anonymous User wrote:Yeah, I'd say so, too. Dam it's not that complicated. There could be a high correlation between people that receive preselect invitations and the 80 or so offers firms usually give out a this fair.
