I dunno. I think there is a CB number where it's safe to suspend massmailing, but the number probably varies by market.NYSprague wrote:Think that screeners =callbacks=job

Yea I didn't bother mass mailing because I had 13 CBs, and did 55 screens and basically saturated two markets.DELG wrote:I dunno. I think there is a CB number where it's safe to suspend massmailing, but the number probably varies by market.NYSprague wrote:Think that screeners =callbacks=job

I haven't seen anyone strike out w a lot of CBs but I've seen people get offers from 1/12 and 1/14 so yeah I suppose that number exists somewhere but I'd just keep mailing until you get an offer bc it's just so easyDELG wrote:I dunno. Yeah one thing that surprised me about OCI was how many people, even with great résumés, only landed one offer.rad lulz wrote:I haven't seen anyone strike out w a lot of CBs but I've seen people get offers from 1/12 and 1/14 so yeah I suppose that number exists somewhere but I'd just keep mailing until you get an offer bc it's just so easyDELG wrote:I dunno. This might be a correlation vs causation thing. 1L study abroads attract losers who are too lazy to find a job.smallfirmassociate wrote:Wow, surprisingly good one that I never considered. But, firms will assume that's who you were (too lazy for job guy)Desert Fox wrote:This might be a correlation vs causation thing. 1L study abroads attract losers who are too lazy to find a job.smallfirmassociate wrote:Wow, surprisingly good one that I never considered. Do laughably little research on firms (actually know someone that asked Quinn about their "corporate practice group")

Tell a hiring partner that you're "more of an ideas guy."

Spend the entire interview talking about how nice it is that the firm emphasizes work-life balance and that you couldn't imagine working weekends

Did they mean to do this or did it just come out somehow? Seems like if you can't even control yourself in an interview setting you were weird enough to where you wouldn't have gotten a offer anyway.rayiner wrote:Say anything racist or sexist in front of interviewers.

Had a male friend at a callback lunch commit what could have been a Title VII violation against a female associate, had he already had a job there.rad lulz wrote:

He got an offer.
So if you're going to be a misogynist, at least choose your targets carefully.

Apparently our school had a guy strike out last year because he told all his interviewers he was exclusively interested in doing appellate litigation.

It's odd. You'd think he'd have been more flexible in his career choices given how flexible he seems to be otherwise.elterrible78 wrote:Apparently our school had a guy strike out last year because he told all his interviewers he was exclusively interested in doing appellate litigation.

Re: How to strike out at OCI
After receiving a first offer, I imagine a lot of people either cancel later callbacks or go to them unprepared. By the time you're at the offer stage you might have had 50+ interviews in two weeks...a man gets tired.DELG wrote:Yeah one thing that surprised me about OCI was how many people, even with great résumés, only landed one offer.rad lulz wrote:I haven't seen anyone strike out w a lot of CBs but I've seen people get offers from 1/12 and 1/14 so yeah I suppose that number exists somewhere but I'd just keep mailing until you get an offer bc it's just so easyDELG wrote:I dunno. Re: How to strike out at OCI
I forgot to edit one of my cover letters and told Firm A all about why I wanted to work for Firm B. So there's that.
