My career services office provided data actually.

GPA unchanged or improved: 98% offer rate nationwide
GPA down less than 5%: 82% offer rate nationwide
GPA down 5% to 10%: 58% offer rate nationwide
GPA down 10% to 15%: 35% offer rate nationwide
GPA down more than 15%: 21% offer rate nationwide

The one outlier was Gibson Dunn, for whom the following data was provided:

GPA improved 5% or more: 100% offer rate
GPA improved 5% or less or unchanged: 89% offer rate
GPA down less than 5%: 14% offer rate
GPA down 5% to 10%: 0% offer rate
GPA down 10% to 15%: 0% offer rate
GPA down more than 15%: 0% offer rate

Haha, I'm an idiot. The GDC thing made it believable for me. I guess I should've read the first page first.

I went from somewhere in between top 5-10% after 1L at a T10 to top third at graduation and had no problem. Also, I did better 3L than 2L so the grade drop would look even more extreme when the offer decision came up.

I have no idea if my transcript even got checked

It's not trolling if the fish just jumps into your boat.

Maybe it's just a Penn thing, but I thought every top lawl skool gives no fucks whether upper-level professors follow the 1L curve (though some individual ones choose to do so anyway, usually for the doctrinal classes like admin and pro rep).

At Georgetown there's still a "mandatory" curve for doctrinal classes above a certain size, but I believe professors have wiggle room on the margins if they want to hand out an extra few A's or A-'s.

How much does 1 below median grade screw you if you had 0 1L year, and your firm doesn't have a 100% offer rate?

It's game over. One the bar examiners find out a law school grade dropped you'll never be able to get sworn in anyway.
