I'm also curious about second round interview awards. Is it common or rare to get more interviews from firms that didn't select you (either pre-select or alternate) during the first round?
And yeah... I was really excited to get an interview with Latham Watkins... then I realized they had like 130 interview spots to fill or something ridiculous like that. Not so excited anymore.

Paul Weiss rejection via email, makes 2 rejections for me, no call backs yet. Why do you think you blew that one?

Do firms typically give callbacks or rejections first?Anonymous User wrote:Anyone hear from Sullivan and Cromwell or Orrick?

Callbacks, but it's helpful to know if they sent out rejections too.Anonymous User wrote:Do firms typically give callbacks or rejections first?Anonymous User wrote:Anyone hear from Sullivan and Cromwell or Orrick?

Re: 2013 Texas OCI (+all Texas firms)
That's the point of the thread. If anyone gets one, hopefully they post, from which those that haven't heard can conclude that they aren't getting one (although there are sometimes random CBs given out later but it's extremely rare). If you go through the earlier posts then you can see which firms people are reporting CBs from. We should try not to clutter the thread up with stuff that's not really on-topic though (posts that aren't listing CBs that have been given out or asking specific questions that haven't been answered).Anonymous User wrote:So has anyone on here received a callback yet?Anonymous User wrote:Callbacks, but it's helpful to know if they sent out rejections too.Anonymous User wrote:Do firms typically give callbacks or rejections first?Anonymous User wrote:Anyone hear from Sullivan and Cromwell or Orrick?

Re: 2013 Texas OCI (+all Texas firms)
None as best I can tell. King & Spalding said they would be doing CB offers today but it's hard to tell whether they've actually done them. Realistically, the group that did NYC job fair this year was smaller and seemingly less credentialed than last year (when this thread worked fairly well). As a result, more firms probably gave out 1 or 0 CBs in which case it's unlikely we'll hear about it through this thread until either: a) rejection emails go out; or b) the 1 person happens to be on TLS. Also, Texas firms (even NYC offices of those firms) tend to move slower than NYC firms so they may not even do CB offers today.Anonymous User wrote:Any movement today?

Switching back to fall OCI: Did anyone receive any additional interviews (lottery presumably, but otherwise too) after the first decline period? I did not, and while I suspect I'm the norm, I was wondering if anyone got lucky. (Though I bid primarily Austin, so it's possible Houston/Dallas firms saw more declines.

I got an interview slot with a firm I was an alternate at before. Other than that no change though.Anonymous User wrote:Switching back to fall OCI: Did anyone receive any additional interviews (lottery presumably, but otherwise too) after the first decline period? Re: 2013 Texas OCI (+all Texas firms)
My understanding is that most of the changes will be people with alternates that weren't scheduled having those interviews changed to scheduled. I dropped 2 preselects that I didn't really want in order to get 2 alternates that I wanted (both of which I got scheduled.Anonymous User wrote:I got an interview slot with a firm I was an alternate at before. Re: 2013 Texas OCI (+all Texas firms)
Was there any change in how Alternates were listed if you got one? I had one Alternate from the beginning that has always been scheduled for a certain time, so does that mean I have an interview then or what?

Re: 2013 Texas OCI (+all Texas firms)
If there is a time by your alternate slot, you have an interview. The status (pre-select vs alternate) does not change when the interview is scheduled. That's made more confusing by the fact that many alternate slots were already scheduled when the first schedule was released.
