Does my greeting need to reflect the status of the sun relative to them or to me?

Re: Office etiquette
Great question. I'd greet them as appropriate given the sun in relation to them. Then, I'd follow-up light-heartedly about how amusing it is that its morning for him/her and afternoon for you. Certainly, you want to be deferential regarding sun positioning. It would be very presumptuous of you, and potentially deal-breaking, to say "Good Morning" to someone over the phone who is well into their afternoon.thesealocust wrote:What if I'm on a call with somebody overseas.drive4showLSAT4dough wrote:Bolded for clarity. I know you're just kidding, but, if I was the person making the call, I'd greet based on their time. If they're calling me, "this is dingbat" should sufficethesealocust wrote:What if I'm on a call with somebody overseas.drive4showLSAT4dough wrote:Bolded for clarity. Touche... although the pencil thread at least gave [a TINY bit of] practical information. This is straight up "how to be a human, 101."presh wrote:Well, it's no pencil thread.Nammertat wrote:Another fantastic thread for the TLS books.
