probably not too late, but it might be getting there.

you need all the typical stuff: cover letter, resume, writing sample, transcript. the extra thing is a LOR (strongly preferred from a l&e professor) which is kind of an added pain.

Most likely 3, I think. I think the breakdown is 3 LA, 5 CHI, 2 NY, with it being flexible to add or subtract 1-2 for each office as long as the total is 10.

To those who haven't applied, interviewing should be wrapped up by the end of next week/around the 26th so there isn't much time to waste if you want to be considered.

Does anyone have an actual link to the requirements for The Labor & Employment Fellowship Program at Seyfarth and recruiting contact? Pm or post would be great!

don't have an actual link, but the recruiting contacts are on their website. send a cover letter, resume, writing sample, transcript and LOR from a l&e professor.

By the way, compensation for socal is $1k a week...and your time is split between century city office and downtown LA office. No offers guaranteed at the end of the fellowship either. If you do get an offer, you are a fellow until you pass the bar and then you become an associate.

besides the low compensation for the summer, i think the offer part is pretty typical. all three fellows from two years ago got offers and the 3 from last year are waiting on bar results. i don't think any firm guarantees offers, and it seems passing the bar is the main hurdle for getting an offer after being a fellow.

i was told offers are typically made to fellows after bar results are released.

haven't heard back from LA yet, but they told me they wouldn't be making offers until the end of next week or the start of the week after that.

nope, not specifically. they told me they were getting through them pretty quickly though, and we should hear back in a week or two from now.

For LA offices: I was told they were interviewing into next week, but since its Thanksgiving, they might go into the week of the 26th (probably no later than that week, I would hope. I would say the latest to hear back would be in early december...i think they want to interview everyone before making a decision (no rolling basis or whatever).

as a fellow and a senior fellow, you are paid the same amount: the rate of half of $145k, which would be $72.5k i think.

yep, what i was told as well.

i'd guess 1.5-2 weeks is a safe bet on when we hear back.

This recruiting seems kinda late in the game...anyone interviewing have backups and stuff lined up in case you dont get an offer? I feel Seyfarth is only interviewing top of the class/law review people who probably already have offers or struck out at oci?

I don't have anything lined up and my stats are good but not great. But yah, they are not really lowering their standards in the interviewing process it seems, so i'm back to square one if this doesn't pan out.
