Re: Lets Talk Seattle...
NALP says K+L is 125, PC is 120. A (very) few other firms pay around this level. If salary is the big concern, highest salaries are actually a few outposts of foreign (i.e. non-Cascadian) firms -- WSGR, DLA, Cooley etc. Though WA natives need no reminder, foreigners should bear in mind WA has no state income tax.

Can you give us more info on which firm? Maybe don't need to name the specific firm. The focus or the size of the mothership would be helpful.[/quote]

My PC interviewer said that I could be waiting up to three weeks before I hear good or bad news from the Seattle office. It's odd because PC Chicago, DC, etc, will often get back to you within a few days, but the home office could take weeks to invite candidates for callbacks? I don't understand why.Anonymous User wrote:Has ANYONE heard from PC Seattle? I did screener at T14 a while ago. No nothing.

PC is interviewing at Chi tomorrow, that is the last T14 on their schedule. Perhaps we'll hear something soon after?

How does OCI work at UW? Is it based on a lottery or firm preference based on bids or a combo?
How many bids...?
Will anybody be willing to post a list of the firms that attend UW OCI. Even a anon personal bid list would prove useful. This way a potential UW applicant/transfer will be able to asses the number of bids each student is awarded. It will also reveal some of the firms that participate in UW OCI esp those outside of Seattle...
Also any GPA targets for the firms linked below will be a great contribution.

Re: Lets Talk Seattle...
It's 80% preselect, 20% lottery I think. Basically all of the Seattle firms come, most of the Portland firms, and then a smattering of CA firms. Maybe 50-70 firms total, I didn't count but the list is below. I think we got like 30 bids or so, I'm not sure because I'm in patents, and there weren't 30 patent firms.Anonymous User wrote:How does OCI work at UW? Re: Lets Talk Seattle...
Thanks! I took the list and made it a little more equitable. There are 59 potential OCI employers for a class of ~180.
Questions 1) Can anybody post the number of openings at one or more of the employers listed? If the list could get filled it will give us an idea of how many SA/PI positions are actually potentially available via UW. 2) Is UW beating out competition from the T14 since it is highly respected regionally, is it a toss up, or does T14 actually carry weight aside from HYS?

How many UW 2Ls got SAs last for 2012? SU had about 15.

Yikes! At least their incoming class size dropped significantly which could help with future employment prospects. I am also interested to know how many 2Ls got SA's.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:

CSO at UW has said anywhere between 10 and 20 percent of the class gets jobs through OCI, but for last year's group it seems it was in the 12 to 15 percent range (you can do the math).Anonymous User wrote:

Re: Lets Talk Seattle...
I'm pretty sure the number through oci was lower than their quoted amounts. I can't verify it. But from first hand experience at the school and talking to other class mates, it seems like the number is lower. UW doesn't beat out the top 14s that often in Seattle. It seems like many of the larger firms tend to hire one 2l from Seattle while it is often a crapshoot with the the smaller oci. I think, but again can't confirm, that many of the firms didn't hire anyone from uw
