Even on a quarter system you'd either still be in class on the 21 of may or you'd have started already by the 21 of September.
...that's awesome, though. Way to make that $$$

I only took seminars and paper classes this quarter. Actually pretty common for 2Ls at my school to do so.blurbz wrote:Woah. How? One of the two T14 schools that are on the quarter system. I know students at the other one do the same thing.shoeshine wrote:Wow. Where do you go to school?Anonymous User wrote: I only took seminars and paper classes this quarter. Actually pretty common for 2Ls at my school to do so.

Same program dates here. Personally, I'm excited. Going shopping next weekRMstratosphere wrote:My program runs May 21-July 27 and I'm also nervous.

Of course, I just found out my informal firm mentor (a friend of a friend) might get poached soon and go to another firm

Re: ITT: Summer Associates Post About Their Anxiety (2012)
Im more nervous about the global market affecting my chance for an permanent offer than my ability. If things go south like they did at the end of last summer, then it may not matter (at my firm at least) what type of work I do. Plus Ill be at a southern firm, where offer rates of 50-67% are the norm no matter what the state of the economy.
So ya, Im a little stressed.

I start next week as well. 10 weeks. It's actually nice to start right away, I will have a nice little break before OCI. Hopefully find out about offer before then.GAIAtheCHEERLEADER wrote:I go from May 14th - August 3rd. Is that kind of long compared to most ppl?

We can also do this at Penn as well. No real requirements, although they suggest you take some regular classes to look good on the transcript.Anonymous User wrote:One of the two T14 schools that are on the quarter system. Hah, valid question. Good firm, preferred location, market pay. Plus that's just how offer rates in the south are for whatever reason.Big Shrimpin wrote:JFC, why'd you choose it, then?moandersen wrote:Plus Ill be at a southern firm, where offer rates of 50-67% are the norm no matter what the state of the economy.

I don't know if we are gonna be working at the same firm (tech transactions), but a top partner at my firm said "just take what interests you... we seriously don't care... we care if you pass the bar."r6_philly wrote:We can also do this at Penn as well. I start May 21, and I'm nervous as shit. I probably should have paid attention in LRW (it was P/F).

Anyone have a feeling on the IT quality at these big firms? In my internships, I generally found the internet connections were poor (which makes Westlaw navigation annoying) or the machines were poor (which makes having a lot of documents open annoying).

May 14-July 27. I was actually feeling no stress at all until I saw this thread. Now I'm stressing about whether I should be feeling stressed.

Re: ITT: Summer Associates Post About Their Anxiety (2012)
Former Dewey SA that landed at a similar firm. I'm hoping i'm not on some kind of probation or something, given that I went through an expedited callback/review process, but in the same near 100% offer rate category as the other SAs. I've got to figure they wouldn't bring me on for the summer and pay that chunk of change if they didn't want me back as a first year.
Starting may 21st. What's with the anxiety if you are at a firm with historically high offer rates? I'm looking forward to meeting the kids from other schools, social events, and getting looks from the ladies in my suit.

Re: ITT: Summer Associates Post About Their Anxiety (2012)
Starting Monday. Less worried about the program this summer, more worried that my sleep schedule of "wake at noon, go to bed at 3 am" will screw me this Monday.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
