I realize I have "no eggs in my basket" I am just trying to decide what I should devote my resources and limted time pursuing.

I think you should just look for all jobs. Focusing your job search when you have no options is sure way to end up unemployed. I've heard this kind of reasoning before --- those friends are now graduated and sitting ont heir ass, and still thinking very hard about where to "focus their resources" for applying to jobs.

I mean that I can only intern full time at one place this summer.

I say this because the clerk I interned with had interned with the Judge summers prior, and the new clerk that came on at the end of my internship had interned the summers prior as well.

If you are really interested in clerking, you also might ask the former and current clerks as to how they got the jobs. It's certainly possible that the judge highly preferences former interns regardless of their resume, but I think it may be just as likely that the clerks who were hired had great credentials (top 40% from HSY, top 25% from CCN, top 15% from MVP, top 10% from the rest of the T14, or top 5-10 students from the non-T14 local law school) in addition to their internship. (Unless the judge is a magistrate, in which case the calculus changes a bit.)

When people here tell you you should focus on finding a job, they mean paying work. Focus on finding a firm job. Finding paying work will not hurt your chances of clerking after you graduate - but interning for the same judge two summers in a row will probably hurt your chances at both firm jobs and clerkships after graduating.

There is a very slight chance that your judge would prefer that you intern for her two summers in a row. Ask her for job search advice and maybe you'll find out.
