OP here, just posting to say keep 'em coming!

Big jump for GDC, from 32 last year to 41 this year. Fits with what they said when I interviewed, though, that they are looking to expand aggressively in NYC.

At the risk of sounding like an NYU troll, the difference in class size (relative to, say, CLS) is irrelevant considering the fact that the amount of OCI slots (for interviews) is basically the same at each school.

this makes no sense. (1) the amount of OCI interviews at these schools are not the same (please see NYU v. Fordham, CLS v. Georgetown, etc.) and (2) i'm failing at understanding your basic point . . . are you saying that these numbers really don't tell us anything about placement power? if so, i'd likely agree until there are more data in this thread.

I'll make it easy for you:
If NYU outplaces CLS at a particular firm, then it's stupid to attribute such placement to NYU's class size. As in, STB had 180 OCI slots for both schools, so the fact that there are 8 NYU SAs vs. 5 CLS SAs turns on information that none of the speculators in this thread have access to.

Edit: I'm only trying to head-off the CLS/NYU pissing match that always comes of these threads.

Well, if you were trying to head off the NYU/CLS debate, you shouldn't have said "say" in your original post. You should have just said "relative to CLS." ANYWAYS, yes, I don't think that anyone really believes that NYU outperformed CLS or that CLS outperformed NYU (unless we get a bunch more data that indicate otherwise). So relax, anonymous user who clearly goes to CLS.

Remember, these are people who have accepted offers, which skews the data a great deal. It's entirely possible FF gave out 15 offers each to Yale/Penn, but because they had better offers, they didn't accept. Cardozo is not even close to being on the same level.

I was told by a 3L not to expect start dates or other hard information from clifford chance until January/February. Supposedly we get some sort of Christmas cookies and other bits of information to hold us over until then though.

I'd be curious as to when those 4 Penn students actually had their CBs. Jones Day came to UVA on the 19th of August, I got a CB the next day. But when I scheduled my CB, I couldn't schedule it until the end of September. Jones Day didn't even go to Penn til the 23rd of August, so I am assuming their CBs would be even later, into Oct? That's intense. I suppose that's one way of determining who really, really wants Jones Day -- I know I canceled my CB, since I was done well before my scheduled CB.

um . . . no. perhaps JD was initially booked until october, but that doesn't mean that that's when these Penn students did their CBs. As people cancel (see, e.g., you) more slots become available and the firm will sometimes let you know or you can get in touch with them on your own accord.

so maybe these 4 penn students were just proactive. or maybe a bunch of people canceled september CBs between august 19th and august 23rd.

But that also doesn't mean that people who ended up with offers didn't have CBs in October -- it's entirely likely that is the case, and should probably be noted for the next round of OCI where there are 15 panicked threads every day asking "omg is a cb sept 14th too late to get an offer"

Yeah I had a few firms that were "booked solid" when I called to schedule CB's. I called Dechert first week in September and was told that earliest slot was close to Halloween. Yet, a week later, I called to see if anything opened up, and they said they could have me in within a week. People cancel quickly as offers come in, so I'd imagine a bunch of people bumped themselves earlier. And FYI, I actually did interview with Jones Day the first week of October (since I got an interview through networking, rather than OCI), and was still made an offer)
