Is there any status other than "sent to component," such as "rejected"?Anonymous User wrote:From personal experience (with SLIP) and from looking at past year threads on here and xoxo, it appears as if everyone's status (regardless of component) will change within the span of a week. It's unclear why some people's change faster than others, but to me, it has more to do with components than anything else.
However, not much is predictable this year. Last year, Honors status changes happened before SLIP, but that's not true for this year.

Nope. It will simply stay at "application received." However, if interview notices go out and you don't receive one, then it means you've been rejected.mvk216 wrote:Is there any status other than "sent to component," such as "rejected"?Anonymous User wrote:From personal experience (with SLIP) and from looking at past year threads on here and xoxo, it appears as if everyone's status (regardless of component) will change within the span of a week. Any other status changes on avue?

Sorry, I know I'm being possibly neurotic, but I'd prefer not to give more detail than that.

I wasn't the one who asked above, but none the offense to me. EOIR is the one I care about. Best of luck to you!!! Lord knows we all need it...

Yes, "Not EOIR" is EXTREMELY helpful.
Good luck everyone. I hope you all have been holding up better than I have. This week has been miserable.

Did yours definitely just change today? If so, then we know that they didn't all change at the same time. Thanks!Anonymous User wrote:Mine is now "referred to components."

Not to be morbid, but I really did wish there was a "Reject" status as opposed to waiting around FOOOOOREEEEEVER. I've basically lost all semblance of a normal personality.

(from the other EOIR candidate unpatiently waiting): I'm sorry you feel that way, but I'm at least glad I have some company, even if it is on a law school internet board.judpol wrote:Not to be morbid, but I really did wish there was a "Reject" status as opposed to waiting around FOOOOOREEEEEVER. I've spent my day refreshing the avue website: that's my life, folks.

Re: DOJ Honors
For Honors? That sounds odd. From what I have heard about past practices, the DOJ typically calls references right before they make offers.Anonymous User wrote:Apparently the DOJ called my references this week, has anyone else heard the same?

I was surprised as well, but I've heard from two of my references who they called. Apparently, they said that they have such limited resources to bring people out for interviews this year that they wanted to call references ahead of time to narrow the interview pool.

I'd rather not, just to err on the side of caution. If there's a specific division you're curious about let me know.

I've now heard from three references that they called. Does anyone know when they'll be notifying people about interviews?

Are you the same person that initially reported having references called? Or someone new? I think the expectation is that interview notices will go out next week.Anonymous User wrote:I've now heard from three references that they called.
