I heard the Dechert Philly office is doing >150 callbacks.

Re: Dechert offers
this can't be right. maybe they're calling back 150+ people firm wide, but the philly office is only anticipating between 12-15 summers. to bring in 150 people for that many spots seems like a stupid waste of money.Anonymous User wrote:I heard the Dechert Philly office is doing >150 callbacks.

They're also doing more screeners this week. I'm not sure if that's a reflection of dissatisfaction with what they've seen so far or that they like a large pool to pick from.Anonymous User wrote:this can't be right. maybe they're calling back 150+ people firm wide, but the philly office is only anticipating between 12-15 summers. to bring in 150 people for that many spots seems like a stupid waste of money.Anonymous User wrote:I heard the Dechert Philly office is doing >150 callbacks.

Any advice for someone with a Dechert DC CB coming up? What was it like, what should I expect?

Re: Dechert offers
Hm I dunno about that, it may be much harder for a Philly office to get people that they give offers to. If they give out 45 offers, then at least 1 in 3 has to accept - which may not be the case in Philly.Anonymous User wrote:They're also doing more screeners this week. Bringing in more unscheduled screeners? As in... they screened already and are back for more?Anonymous User wrote:They're also doing more screeners this week. Does anyone know of people who got Dechert offers (and, if so, their stats)?

Re: Dechert offers
Had a callback with Dechert DC a little over three weeks ago.
They said they'd let me know in 2-3 weeks. I told them, via email (I think), that I had an offer on the table with an expiration of the 14th. They haven't let me know (In fact, they never replied to the email), and it's a shame. I'm going to have to assume it's a rejection and accept the other offer.
The real pain is that a friend of mine interviewed with Dechert DC 4-5 days after I did and got an offer the following day.
I don't know what I'm expecting by posting this, but maybe others can relate to prolonged silence post-callback?

Followup (I'm quoting my own post):
Called recruiting yesterday to get an answer. Left a voicemail. They never called me back, but I came home to a snail mail ding dated Friday.
Oh well, it's over now, at least

I'm sorry to hear that, but at least you have another offer to fall back on. How did you like the office though? Any tips for someone who has a call back with the DC office as well coming up? No offer to fall back on, so I'm pretty nervous about it.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Had a callback with Dechert DC a little over three weeks ago.

Congrats on the offer. How soon after your callback did you hear? I thought callback interviews just started this week.Anonymous User wrote:dechert nyc offer....median at CLSAnonymous User wrote:Does anyone know of people who got Dechert offers (and, if so, their stats)?

+1Anonymous User wrote:Given how late the NYC office is running in comparison to other firms, I can't help but wonder how many of their CBs will end up canceling in light of other offers. This could make the actual CB/offer ratio better. Or maybe I'm just being naively hopeful, since post-OCI I'm literally sitting here with all of my eggs in Dechert's basket, crossing my fingers and toes that I'll get an offer.

I'm the OP (not the person with the offer last week, the person with the callback last week). Offer today. Exactly one week turnaround - monday to monday.Anonymous User wrote:what day was your CB and what day did you get the offer?Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:had a dechert (phl) callback yesterday. wondering what timeline i can expect. how quickly have people heard back (either way)?
