I know of at least one person with an offer at Weil in Miami.
Any specifics you could provide on that person? School? Rank?

Yes. In all offices, Weil associates start out at 160K. It's one of the great things about the firm.

I've had interviewers (not in Miami) fish about my interest in other firms as well, but none has insisted on names as the earlier poster described. It is absolutely rude to do so -- it forces the applicant to reveal the picture of their employment prospect, and their perceived worth to other firms. You would be extremely naive to think that a truthful answer like "I applied to 54 firms in the area but this is the only screener I have so far. Still waiting on the others. I am very interested in Miami!" would not affect the applicant's chances.

I've heard that's a rather short list.

Yeah...not about to get into what you've heard versus what I've heard. Anecdotal sparring matches are oh so pointless.

I am a transfer student, T50 to CCN, doing callbacks with Weil and White & Case Miami in a couple weeks. I didn't know Weil paid $160 in Miami ....that's pretty incredible.

I've had cbs with a bunch of these firms in the past couple weeks. Interesting to hear your perspectives. No offers yet, but hoping/expecting action from GT, McDermott, Bilzin, White & Case this week.

Weil is a little too tiny for my liking.

+1 on lunch with Bilzin. Akerman was five 30 minute interviews followed by NO lunch. I was pretty hungry at the end.

You had a callback? If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take for them to invite you back after the screener?
