I don't remember where I saw the info. Let's conservatively say, 50%. 130-150ish? And to behonest, there are plenty of people not from the midwest who would be comfortable working in Chicago. There's just no real way to predict.
ya ya im sure. like you said, we'll have to see what happens.
Actually it is more like a quarter of the class. Both the northeast and the west are higher percentages than the midwest.
Chart is from the admissions website.
Watching this thread with interest...
Anyone from Oregon/Washington in your sections, or does that 'west' designation pretty much just mean 'California'?

According to career services people, it seems anecdotally as if fewer NU students bid NY this year than in years past.

Results should be out by 5. Let's see where unpredictability takes us.

My guess: we will have our results by 5:00pm next Tuesday.

I just assume our school's administration needs to do something really important in the meantime, like gender verification...

0L creeping this thread...do people mind posting their spots in the class along with their results to give a better idea of how interviews are correlated with ranking? I know literally nothing about OCI bidding so that would be really helpful. It's cool if you'd rather not share the info though. How many interviews is 'normal' depending on ranking?
Also, holy shit. 'Grats HGL!!!

OCI is 100% lottery, rank is irrelevant for # of interviews.

it's a lottery system so it makes no difference where you are in the class

Ahhhhh gotcha. So it's totally randomly chosen? (sorry if this is derailing the thread, I can move the question to the NU Students Q&Challenges thread if that would be a better place)

18 interviews total, got 9 of my top 10. Bid list was NY and Chi mixed (a little heavier on NYC) and got 3 from a secondary/teriary market that I bid in my last 5 slots.

Interviews are lottery based, so they're entirely a function of your bid list, not your class rank. Your class rank has an effect in the sense that a bid list for someone who has high-grades will include more selective firms that fewer people will bid on, leading to more interviews, but that's a secondary effect.

Man, can't help but feel a little dejected with my results. Not sure where I went wrong, except possibly wasting a bid on Sidley at 4, which could have been another mid market firm that I would have been more likely to secure an interview with.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
