Re: Question on Cravath Recruiting
I am a Cardozo 1L. I have a 4.0 (actually, a 3.999 due to a rounding issue). Cravath does not OCI at Cardozo. However, I have a pretty good resume (10 years of work experience including military/security clearance, Wharton undergraduate) and a strong paying Research Assistant gig lined up for the summer.
The (obvious) question: Is it worth dropping a resume and trying to work alums (there are 2 associates there) to land an interview at Cravath? Or is the Cover Letter/Resume just going in the trash, despite the GPA/experience, because Cardozo is too low down there? I think there's a shot, but I also feel like I should be keeping a lot of focus on OCI, since even with my credentials, a good 2L summer position is not a mortal lock.

You are the epitome of the person who should be sending out resumes to biglaw firms before OCI. You're at the tippy-top of the class at an NYC school, and you have work experience. Do not just "focus on OCI" -- get those apps in the mail (or email, rather).Anonymous User wrote:I am a Cardozo 1L. I have a 4.0 (actually, a 3.999 due to a rounding issue). Renzo is spot on. I know many people who were in a similar position as you (at or near #1 in the class at a northeast regional school) who had great success from big law firms that would normally not waste time doing OCI at their home school.Renzo wrote:You are the epitome of the person who should be sending out resumes to biglaw firms before OCI. One actually works at Cravath right now.
