How do the rankings affect job prospects? I am debating between Cardozo ranked at 50, so is now tier 1, but with no scholarship money and Hofstra ranked at 84 tier 2, with 25k a year. Is there much of a difference between the 2?

Didn't this thread of yours answer this question satisfactorily? The odds of getting a job that can pay off Cardozo sticker are stacked against you. Hofstra will be less, but job prospects are even worse. Do not bank on doing better at Hofstra because it is lower-ranked. You will not be the only person there who picked Hofstra over better schools for the money thinking that very same thing.

Things have changed drastically in the rankings since that thread.

This is why I fucking hate these fucking rankings. Stop worrying about the rankings so much. Next year, the rankings can "drastically" change again.

This shit is so fucking stupid too. It doesn't matter the least bit. Legal employers that otherwise didn't hire UT grads aren't going to start hiring at UT because they moved from 17 to 14 for a year (or whatever it was). Employers that do hire UT grads aren't going to suddenly start digging deeper into UT's class because of this increase in ranking. Also, it's going to go back down. UT has always been in the 15-18 spots. They will be there once again. Everyone, who matters, knows this. People did this same crap when berkeley for one year became a "top 6" law school. It didn't make any difference (didn't they get boned at OCI, worse than the rest of the t13, in fall 09 when they were a "t6"?) and now it's back down again.
