Thoughts on Holland & Knight? About 10 FL offices huh? But solid presence in BOS, CHI, NY, LA. Summer class of 3 last year in BOS huh? Yikes. Any word on this year's class?

They started to interview people at BU again.... 3 people this summer, but I don't think they filled it.

1.) Ropes; Wilmer; Goodwin; Bingham
2.) Choate; foley hoag, Nutter; Skadden; Weil
3.) Mintz Levin; EAPD; Nixon; Brown Rudnick; K&L Gates; McDermott; Fish
4.) Goulston; Foley & Lardner; S&W; Hinckley; Seyfarth;

Nutter (below market, non-vault) same tier as Skadden/Weil? Curious to hear your reasoning, or at least what you were told in interviews. I would shift Nutter down and move Goulston up a tier.

Also, I think the Vault list is close to accurate. Weil was probably excluded since the Boston office is essentially one practice area, but I would probably stick them in at 6 or 7 due to exit options.

Being non-vault does not cause an alarm for me. And here is why: there are more than 10 legit firms in Boston. Let's think of some good ones vault leaves off: EAPD, BR, K&L, Holland and Knight; Nutter; Fish. I'm sure I am missing some. That's why I think a top 20 would be more representative.

I think Nutter really belongs in 3rd tier more than 2nd. Then again, I don't think there is much of a difference between tier 2 and tier 3 (leaving out Skadden and Weil because they are almost breeds of their own as satellite offices of big, prestigious ny firms).
