Re: Best Wilmington firm?
Sure thing. I received an offer recently. Had my callback awhile ago. Wasn't told if there were other offers outstanding or if they will be making any others soon. Sorry I don't know more.Anonymous User wrote:Mind elaborating?Anonymous User wrote:Yes.Anonymous User wrote:Any offers from Young Conaway?

From what I can tell, MNAT is the place for corporate-transactional work, and YCST for corporate lit work. I think the other 2 are a little more balanced (I could be wrong though, as I haven't looked at all of the 4 in detail).Anonymous User wrote:so, what distinguishes between the firms in the 'big 4'? what is best about each?

Other than that, probably just fit.

I recently applied there on a whim, I wonder if they are still trying to interview people?

Re: Best Wilmington firm?
Got a letter from PAC a while back asking if I was still interested because they were still interested in me (this is like more than 2 months after my initial screening interview).
In the interest of equity (and offers from firms that operated on more reasonable timelines), I didn't respond.
Timeliness, FTW!

Ya, it doesn't compute. They're probably not doing well/not having much semblance of a summer class this year (like most Wilmington firms, with the exception of MNAT). I really liked PAC and also really wanted CBLH, but at least CBLH told me that they would have maybe one SA this upcoming summer. PAC interviewed at least 20 students at my school and I never heard anything until months afterwards. Oh well, I'll be in NYC biglaw instead - but would've loved to kick in in DE for the summer! (grew up there)

they're actually having a decent sized class -- on par with past years.
they also have given out at least some offers...

On par with last year, and much less than years before. Also, they no-offered 33% of their class last summer. I'd say they're not doing so hot.Anonymous User wrote:they're actually having a decent sized class -- on par with past years.

That doesn't align with what I was told at all. Size is on par with the last 3 years, and the offer rate was higher than you're suggesting (at least according to them...). The numbers on NALP are from 2 years ago...Anonymous User wrote:On par with last year, and much less than years before. Also, they no-offered 33% of their class last summer. I withdrew from PAC recently. Based on the response, they aren't done hiring yet. They may already have enough offers outstanding, but I couldn't tell either way.

I wonder if they even reject people or just keep a large pool waiting in case they need to fill a spotAnonymous User wrote:I was just waiting on a callback reply. I was told my application was still active. Either they still have offers to give, or they still have offers outstanding and are waiting to hear from them before they can make other moves. Either way, they haven't completed the process yet.Anonymous User wrote:What made you think that?Anonymous User wrote:I withdrew from PAC recently. Based on the response, they aren't done hiring yet.
