Website just says they accept applications during the fall semester. I was able to access the online thing about a week ago.

In theory you can still apply. In practice, they're already pretty much done giving out first-round callbacks. Plenty of people who have done second- and third-round callbacks haven't heard yet, though, so they might still be giving out some first-round callbacks.

I just did a first-round interview and was offered a callback last week.

That doesn't negate the point. We're talking about someone who wouldn't even be doing a screening until next week at the earliest.

I had the final interview with the hiring director about 3 weeks ago and havent heard. I'm assuming ding. I find this odd b/c the callback went exceptional, and his interview consisted of about 3 questions. One of which was have you ever been arrested. I cant see how he decided to ding me off of that convo.

As for the 3rd interview with director of legal recruiting, I did it on the same day as my 2nd round of interview--they probably did this so that I didn't have to fly back out. Until I read this thread, I was not aware that this was even a separate stage. It was fairly congenial, but there were some substantive questions.

You guys talk about substantive questions -- what was the substance? Was it about stuff you'd done, topics relevant to the divisions you were most interested in, or something else? And any NY practice/ethics type stuff?

More than likely, yes.

Actually, that probably wasn't very helpful. There is no set application deadline, but with the majority of offers already out, a new applicant is unlikely to get very far in the process. wouldn't hurt to submit an application and hope someone pulls out last minute. http://www.nyc.gov/html/law/html/careers/students.shtml

I want to revive this thread again. I know the department is going through callbacks right now. has anyone received an offer after their callback? do they still have third rounds of interviews to get through?
