Tough to say. They haven't given more than 1 offer to students from my school the past 3 years. Total callbacks for those three have been 3, 1, 2.

So it's probably very tough to get hired, given their size and the fact they seem to be content with only giving offers to 1 person (presumably 1 at both HLS and UT).

They're a fantastic firm -- probably slightly below Susman in prestige, but what does that matter? Small firm, short partnership track, hired to make partner, fantastic pay (right up there with Susman -- meets or exceeds Wachtell), plaintiffs and defense work. Smaller than Susman, too.

Texas (Houston in particular) is poised to become a huge legal market.

No state income tax = huge ITE and people having debt.

Energy/Oil/Gas in Houston

Tech in Austin

Harder to break into NYC and DC.

Bids/interviews in Houston have been on the rise for the past couple of years.

Ya... never thought I'd end up in Houston, but considering the high number of CBs I got there, it's looking pretty good right now. As much as I'd love to end up in Austin, that is one tough market to crack, and barely anybody is hiring there right now.

I honestly believe Houston is one of the best markets one can be in right now. It's a shame Austin is so tough to crack into though. Probably a decent chance at working in Houston for a bit and than lateraling.

Locke Lord Callback, Houston. Was aiming at Austin, but I haven't heard of anyone getting a CB for any Austin offices...

Anyone heard from HayBoo Dallas lately? My screener was a week ago. Doesn't their hiring committee meet every Wed or something like that? I was hoping for some action today...
