I'm sure there are a lot of wealthy people at most top law schools. Before I went to law school I never knew anyone whose family pulled in more than 200K a year. Now almost every law student I know from schools all over the country fit that criteria.SuichiKurama wrote:legends159 wrote:well considering that most people at SLS students come from upper class families I doubt anyone would be struggling to pay their bills even if they graduate with no job.
I've heard this many many times about Stanford (maybe even more so than about HLS or YLS). Why do you think that is? Not that I need to worry about it but do you think that this would lead them to give a large need based grant package to a very low income admit? No offense but that also seems like a bit of a snobby social crowd to be around if you are an SLS student.
I haven't met anyone at SLS who is snobby about their wealth. Some people you know they're wealthy based on their last names, random comments they make in class, or the cars they drive. For the vast majority of people, you wouldn't know they came from wealthy families unless you got to know them a little more. Everyone I've encountered has been down to earth and humble.
