It's a plus on your resume (definitely better than not having any journal on there). I say go for it.

Have you talked to OCPD at all? They can be pretty helpful. At the very least, they can help you lay in the foundation for networking/targeted job search.

I don't know how much it'll help, but maybe try out to do Moot Court/Mock Trial/Clinic your 3L year. I have no idea about Mock Trial, but I know you can qualify for moot court during your 2L spring. Also, being on the Ed Board of a secondary might help.

100 percent do the journal. Going into interviews and having to explain why you are not on a journal is not a pleasant experience. Plus, it helps to mitigate the bad grades to some extent--at least you can write.
