You can, but the problem is, if you struck out at 2L OCI, it meant you didn't have the grades; which means you don't have the grades to get a federal clerkship...I was also curious if you could strike out at OCI but land a clerkship somewhere later on and use that to make firms think again (not necessarily the same ones, but I know the firms like to get most/all of their people while they are 2Ls) about hiring you?
Crappy catch 22 scenario, but it is what it is.
What you can do is either boost your grades during 2L by getting straight A's...or, if you interned for a federal judge and did great work and made a good connection, maybe your judge can put in a word for you.
