Skadden state of the firm on June 15th, reception to follow. This is either NY to 190 or Skadden to NO CHEESE.

There will be one plate of cheese.

The cheese is largely symbolic.

Good news, though, we got a slightly larger plate of cheese for y'all this time around."

It's subject to an insanely high withholding rate since it's considered supplemental income. Kinda similar to how SAs are taxed as if they're making 160k of income instead of the 30-36k they actually make over the summer. It sucks, but you should get a lot of it back on your tax return (which obviously isn't helpful right now).

Thanks. That makes sense. Fucks me on the bar loan interest tho.

My parents were like "didn't you save for this?" I'm like bitch please, I incurred major credit card debt just to make it through my last semester and I haven't had money in my checking account for months.

I thought momentarily about making a joke like this, but held myself back because it doesn't really even land given that Trump has no real tax policy.

Unless you're at a market leader firm that doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot. Not everyone will move anyway.
There aren't really any market leader firms anymore.

Lol, recency bias.
If you look at most of the economic indicators, you would not be so comfortable.
If you're so smart, why aren't you short some index a massive amount?
I am shorting many industrial stocks.

Save all your money and buy everything at the height of the next recession. start your own law firm in NYC. Pay incoming associates 190k.

SAs at Cleary apparently got an email about a "10%" raise.

If I understand you correctly, you're saying that first years at Cleary were previously earning 173k?

Why was "10%" in quotes? Did Clearly mean it sarcastically? I guess it's better than putting scare quotes around "raise," but it still leaves me uneasy.
