That's false. Cravath went to 180 on June 6, 2016. https://abovethelaw.com/2016/06/breakin ... alaries/2/ Latham matched on June 9, 2016. https://abovethelaw.com/2016/06/earths- ... rldwide/2/Right2BearArms wrote:I would be surprised if Latham moved fast enough to match today. Latham is already super slow with bonuses/raises (took almost 2 weeks in 2016 to move to 180) and Latham has not replaced its chairperson yet after Bill Voge's resignation.

Latham is still slow with bonuses.

Not sure about this one. VE & BB seem to be higher tier firms for consistently being No. 1/2 in Texas. I could be wrong, though.Anonymous User wrote:When VE and BB match, HB will match tooAnonymous User wrote:Any chance Haynes Boone matches?

Anybody have a sense of what the likelihood of matching is for the big Philly firms (Morgan Lewis and Dechert specifically)?

V&E and BB are definitely set above the rest of Texas biglaw, but I can't imagine the firms that are just slightly under them, HB being one of them, wouldn't match.Anonymous User wrote:Not sure about this one. GDC compensation is the same across all US offices, although they've tried before to not do that. The only difference right now is that the NY office doesn't have an hours requirement for bonuses, but also doesn't get a bump for higher hours either.Right2BearArms wrote:What do you mean by "how come?"Anonymous User wrote:How come? GDC will likely match all offices. I think they do already (not 100% sure on some of the smaller markets, i.e. Denver though). The others I don't know well enough to give a good opinion.

Re: NYC to 200k
Ropes match with a fail-safe in case someone decides to SHATTER THE MARKET.
We are pleased to announce that base salaries for our partnership-track associates on the US scale, including summer associates, will be adjusted effective July 1, 2018 in line with the most recent market changes. We will also pay summer bonuses this year to associates on the US scale and in good standing, again in line with market. Bonuses will be paid on July 13, 2018, and will be prorated for associates on reduced-time arrangements or who started with us after the beginning of the year.
As has been the case historically, our career attorneys and other associates and counsel will continue to be compensated on a non-formulaic basis in accordance with a number of factors, including prevailing market compensation practices and performance.
On behalf of the entire partnership, we want to thank all of you for your hard work and dedication. It is a privilege to work with such an extraordinary group of professionals.

No GDC office has an hours requirement for bonuses (1950 is unofficial). Maybe you're more likely to get a bonus with fewer than 1950 hours in the NY office (I have no insight into that, but if it were the case, it would be case by case).Anonymous User wrote:GDC compensation is the same across all US offices, although they've tried before to not do that. Re: NYC to 200k
NY office you get a full bonus no matter what. Other offices you're *very* likely to get a half bonus if you don't hit 1950. You will definitely get a full bonus if you hit 1950, even if half of that is pro bono. Other offices you also get bumps for "better work" (i.e. you bill a lot more than 1950, like 2300).Anonymous User wrote:No GDC office has an hours requirement for bonuses (1950 is unofficial). The firms keep saying they're giving bonuses to associates "in good standing." Can anyone shed light on what that means?

For this special bonus only, we will use an 1,850 hours threshold and will look at whether you have achieved this target based on your annualized hours for fiscal year 2018 through May 31, 2018. These bonuses will be subject to proration based on start date, part-time and leave arrangements.
