Also waiting on 10+! I get the sense that a lot of the firms from the second week of OCIs just haven't gotten back to anyone? But who knows!Anonymous User wrote:Beyond my intuition that no news is good news I don't think there's any insight to offerAnonymous User wrote:Still waiting on 10+ firms... can I assume they are all dings? However, did not get a FF NY ding like some people mentioned.
And hey I'm down to 6 so seems like you're doing decently

Is there any general time frame for Chicago firms to give offers after call backs or does it completely vary?

Rising 3L and just thought I would post an encouragement for those who are still trying to get an offer at this point. This time last year I only had a single callback through OCI (which was a ding) and had three direct apply callbacks (which were also dings) and I felt like shit. However, by mid September, I had two offers from Vault 50 firms. No matter what your situation is just keep applying and trust that it will all work out!

By this point I was direct applying anywhere and everywhere but focusing mostly on bigger markets LA, Chicago, and New York. Many of the firms that I direct applied to (and both of the firms that I received offers from) had attended NU's OCI but had not filled up their summer class. With this being said, I would recommend direct applying to firms even if the firm attended NU's OCI (just make sure you're prepared for the "why did you not interview with us at OCI" question).
As far as "traction," the end of August/beginning of September is when I received the most interest because by that point the deadline for many people who received offers to accept/reject had past. But I know people who received offers as late as December. As I said in my previous post, the best advice I can give is to just keep applying!

Thank you so much for sharing. Would you be able to share your stats, even vaguely? (below median, median, above).NLawProud wrote:Anonymous User wrote:When did you start getting traction? What’s the best way to answer "why didn't you oci us"? The only thing I can think of is to just say there's a limited amount of bids and a lot of great firms. I know it's not a good answer but like covering up bad grades, it's not going away.
Final question - did you change your strategy or rewrite your resume later? Did you figure out why you were striking out at OCI or was it just random?

[quote="Anonymous User"]latham ny ding. didn't expect it anyway but it feels like now is when a lot of firms tie up loose ends.
