Any movement from Morgan Lewis?
Feels like half the firms I interviewed with haven't given out CBs yet (that I've heard of).

I think its a little early to think about striking out from OCI, a fair amount of firms seemed to have not given any CBs yet and I don't know of many people in TX at all with any offers yet

Re: University of Texas 2015 OCI
As someone else noted, it's a bit early to give up on OCI. There are definitely quite a few firms that do late callbacks.Anonymous User wrote:soooo... for those of us with no offers out of OCI, where do we go from here?
Obviously however, if you haven't gotten anything yet, your chances aren't great with firms from OCI.
What I would say... Take this weekend and just relax. Do anything to take your mind off of the anxiety, because I know from experience that it can be crippling. OCI is just so mentally exhausting and I'm sure you could really use a break. Get drunk, eat some greasy food. Or go work out or go for a run if that's your thing. If you have any non-law student friends in Austin, go hang out with them.
After that, it sounds trite, but seriously never stop hustling. Never stop applying. If you haven't mass-mailed yet, do it on Monday. If you have, follow up. Open yourself up to more markets. Tell firms from the same market that you'll be in town on certain dates even if you won't. It makes them way more likely to respond favorably, and spending your own $$ on travel will be well worth the chance of scoring a job.
You'll also be surprised how many decent (though usually not biglaw) jobs keep popping up on Symplicity throughout the fall and even well into the spring. Postings for in-house summer jobs pretty much trickle in randomly until right before the summer. The pool of really solid candidates keeps getting smaller throughout the year, so these jobs just keep getting less and less competitive as the summer gets closer.
Further, lots of small firms in Austin will have postings for Law Clerk positions during the school year. That's a great way to gain experience and make yourself more marketable while making a little extra cash during 2L.
You can also ask yourself if it's a priority to have *any* job as a lawyer, or if you'd be happy with a good JD-advantage type job. Because being open to that really opens up a huge amount of potential jobs that pay relatively well.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or just want to talk. I was crazy despondent at this time last year with no offers. I eventually got a job I love super late in the process, but I really let all this get to me for a long time before that. It's hard not to look at this like your life is over after striking out. Perspective can be nearly impossible during OCI, but it's really not the be-all end-all.
Good luck folks.
