The only thing I can really say for sure is you will be known as mustache summer.

The number of aspie TLSers is insanely high.Desert Fox wrote:A guy at my work knows, hopefully he didn't tell anyone.Cobretti wrote:So on a scale of being outed on TLS at school to being Winstoned, how bad is being outed on TLS to people at your firm?Desert Fox wrote:Harsh truth, anyone posting on TLS already as two strikes on the no offer pitch count
Assuming its a lot closer to being Winstoned...
And DF how do we stay totally anon while mega poasting at work??
I'm not sure the fact that someone knows is really the big risk. More that you are definitely weird if you post on TLS.
The number of TLSers who got no offered is insanely high.

Is this real life.Desert Fox wrote:Yea there are. I know of one that offered someone who legit sexually harassed a midlevel, who requested he be no offered because of the harassment.skers wrote:Idk if there's really a true 100% offer firm though.

I know of nearly 100% offer firms that haven't dinged for sexual harassment, but have for really poor work product, so welcome to big law.

That's so messed up. When you say "poor work product" do you mean like missed deadlines, didn't ask enough questions type of thing? Or is it instead like just doesn't know how to write or research? Or just all of the above?skers wrote:I know of nearly 100% offer firms that haven't dinged for sexual harassment, but have for really poor work product, so welcome to big law.

I think mine is 100% or very near 100% in the past couple years but I'm still scared shitless...

Mine is usually 100% but year before last this office no-offered 1 person. I want to ask what they did to get no offered so I can make sure not to do that.

Same with my firm. Heard a story from a summer there though... it was extraordinary circumstances (shit work product, shit attitude).arklaw13 wrote:Mine is usually 100% but year before last this office no-offered 1 person. Still - I have no way of knowing how shit my work product will be, so it's a little nerve-wracking.

Re: Summer Associate Class of 2015: Get on In
Same with the firm I am going to (except the 1 no offer was last year). I spoke with a 3L who summered there last summer and they told me it appeared like the person was trying to get no offered. Awful work product, missing every deadline, horrible attitude, and sometimes just straight up blowing off assignments.arklaw13 wrote:Mine is usually 100% but year before last this office no-offered 1 person. Yeah I don't know what else you'd bring besides like a pen. And yeah, a think a suit is TCR. Unless they explicitly told you not to wear a suit. Everyone knows it's your first day and your trying to look nice.sublime wrote:First day tomorrow also.
Do we need to bring anything? Aside from our identifications to do paperwork?
Also, suit on first day is TCR even for a business casual firm, correct?

Yeah I got something too. If I'm walking back and forth there is shit I'll want with me. Plus I may just go early in the mornings and work out and shower there and change, so I can throw stuff in this and keep some stuff at the office depending.sublime wrote:I got this when they were running a more than half off sale:

I probably won't actually use it for work though.

Let us May 18 starters know if a suit on the first day is still TCR at a business casual firm. TYIA

No. TCR is business casual. But if you wear a suit, you won't be the only one.sublime wrote:First day tomorrow also.

Is a blazer with gold buttons an acceptable jacket for business casual. I'm wearing it with slacks and can't tell if it looks weird.
