I was invited to firm holiday party and I will be an incoming summer associate this summer. Any tips as to what I should do during this experience? It is next weekend!

Be normal, don't stay too late, introduce yourself to people but don't linger around any one person, and don't drink too much.Anonymous User wrote:I was invited to firm holiday party and I will be an incoming summer associate this summer. Anon 1 here. To clarify this was a post acceptance gift sent a while back so Anon2 may be asking if we get extra holiday stuff. I don't think we'd get 2 gifts though!Minnietron wrote:1 page back.Anonymous User wrote:Does MoFo send out any holiday swag?Anonymous User wrote:MoFo sent this backpack (emblazoned with MOFO of course)

S&C sent a box of food (salami, cheese, chips, salsa, etc.) with a small cutting board. All the food is awesome. Happy with the gift.

What is up with this weird hangup everyone has about this. I wear my firm backpack everyday. Not because I want to shill for the firm but it's because it's easily the best backpack I have ever owned.dwyf wrote:In spite of the size, please don't wear it at school.Anonymous User wrote:hoodie from Milbank. TLSers are overly sensitive to anything that could possibly, in one universe or another, potentially have a chance to maybe be taken as gloating.Anonymous User wrote:What is up with this weird hangup everyone has about this. Agreed - tons of 2Ls and 3Ls at my T14 use firm branded swag. Literally no one cares or notices. Often with water bottles, notepads etc. it doesn't even mean you're going to the firm / got an offer, but just got free stuff at 2L OCI.Anonymous User wrote:TLSers are overly sensitive to anything that could possibly, in one universe or another, potentially have a chance to maybe be taken as gloating.Anonymous User wrote:What is up with this weird hangup everyone has about this. same here, but I've noticed that the vast majority of people using firm stuff are using stuff for firms they are NOT going to.Anonymous User wrote:Agreed - tons of 2Ls and 3Ls at my T14 use firm branded swag. imo use your Proskauer water bottle from OCI all you want, but don't wear post-acceptance swag like a senior in HS repping their future college

King & Spalding sent out Brookstone bluetooth headphones in holiday gift wrap. Don't have a photo handy, but I'm sure you can picture it. Channel your inner Ralphie.

This. But, I'm some number of years out - may also be that people were more sensitive back then because fewer people had offers.
