As far as the NJPD head defender goes... I hear you on the head guy and not vibing with him. But to be a PD is always going to mean that you disagree with your colleagues on something, whether they think you need to be working less/more on a case, they don't get why you are/aren't collegial with the adversaries... the real world PD offices aren't always as entrenched and protected by federal funding as PDS is... and Bronx Defenders has a high turnover rate. Fighting for these jobs shouldn't be about wanting to have the best or coolest colleagues - that's a plus. It's about fighting for your clients. And I'm sure indigent defendants in Jersey need good PDs. Plain and simple.

For some of these jobs you can just apply directly over email. Skype/phone interviews are the norm. No need to rely on EJW.
