STB NY offer and I accepted. I know of one other person who was a 3L who got an offer and accepted as well.

Someone who was involved in this should make a list of firms who were interested in 3Ls. Help out the future doops.

28 days, per NALP. I'll probably make a decision before that though -- have a summer offer expiring on October 1st.Anonymous User wrote:Did they tell you how long you have to accept?Anonymous User wrote:Undecided.Anonymous User wrote:Weird...I haven't heard anything either way. Re: 3L OCI
I understand how fortunate I am and how awful this might sound. I ask mainly out of curiosity:
How terrible would it be to apply to another firm while I've already accepted an offer for full-time employment? I've committed to a V10, but I am thinking about applying to another for a variety of reasons. I by no means anticipate my application turning into anything. I'm interested in knowing, though, the potential implications of doing this. Thank you all in advance!

I don't know if this is smart. All I know is that when I've been interviewing and they ask about my offer I tell them when it's open til and that I have not accepted. 2-3 people have joked that it's a good thing I didn't because if I had we'd have problems. IDK how big the problem would be but I don't think any good can come of doing this. Maybe I'm wrong.Anonymous User wrote:I understand how fortunate I am and how awful this might sound. Not worth it man, you don't want to start your career burning bridges--this is the type of thing that usually ends that way. Why take the risk for a marginal chance at working at a different firm? Best case scenario you work at a firm with the same prestige for the same pay--worst case you end up unemployed and mass-mailing shitlaw after taking the bar scrounging for jobs in North Dakota.Anonymous User wrote:I understand how fortunate I am and how awful this might sound. Edit: Really though, there is a risk that the new firm will find out you already accepted an offer. And there is also a risk that if they do, it will result in the new firm not offering you and you getting your other offer rescinded. A search of the forum reveals this is something people have discussed before and came to this conclusion. If you really want to switch, put in your 18 months and lateral.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
