FWIW, in past years, the components have handled references on fairly different timetables. So what ATR is doing doesn't necessarily tell you what the others are doing.

Negative. Mine still says that I was selected to interview.Anonymous User wrote:Has your Avue status been updated yet?
I don't expect any news until next week after all of the HP interviews are completed.

Very jealous of the ATR people right now. The waiting is the worst.

I interviewed with USAOs in addition to ATR, so I'm with you there.Anonymous User wrote:Very jealous of the ATR people right now. The waiting is the worst.

Would it be wrong to assume that "the final stages" caller was from the NY office? My understanding is that their cycle wraps up sooner. Either way, I interviewed with both as well and NY hasn't checked my references. Ah well, best of luck to you.Anonymous User wrote:Neither. Friday, October 31st.Anonymous User wrote:For those with references contacted, did the calls come yesterday or today?
Yes. My reference emailed me to tell me about both requests, including that one of my interviewers indicated that they were in the "final stages" of selection.Anonymous User wrote:Another question: for those with references contacted, did your references just tell you afterward that they had been called?

Hopefully ATR (DC) hasn't made all their decisions already, I'm interviewing this Friday. At least I'll be fresh on their minds.

If your references have been checked, does that generally lead to an offer (non-EOIR component)?

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2014-15
I don't think it always does. A friend of mine was contacted regarding an Honors applicant. She's not sure if it was contact as a reference or for a background check, but the applicant did not get an offer.

I know interviews are still going on this week so I doubt that there will be any movement until at least the end of next week.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard anything from either section of OIL?
OP, which section did you interview with?

That may be the case because I know they checked some a week ago, presumably before many people had interviewed.Anonymous User wrote:I wonder if OIL appellate is checking references on all applicants they interview.Anonymous User wrote:I know references are being checked at OIL appellate and the Civil Rights Division.

To the ATR(DC) people that have confirmed reference checks, when did you interview? Did ATR(NY) check references on 10/31 also?
Also, if you interviewed with other components, did you rank ATR(DC) first in your application, top choice now?
I interviewed Friday afternoon with ATR(DC), NY a couple weeks ago. References have not been called as far as I know but wouldn't expect it with DC since I just interviewed.

Interviewed with ATR(DC) the first week of interviews, and they called my references on 10/31.Anonymous User wrote:To the ATR(DC) people that have confirmed reference checks, when did you interview? Did ATR(NY) check references on 10/31 also?

Interviewed with ATR(NY) the week before that, and they also called my references on 10/31.
When I applied, I ranked ATR(DC) ahead of ATR(NY), but NY is now my first choice. I also interviewed with several USAOs during the first week of interviews, but no word from any of them yet.

Thanks. As someone who really wants ATR(DC) and apparently isn't getting a call from NY, I sincerely wish you the best of luck.Anonymous User wrote:Interviewed with ATR(DC) the first week of interviews, and they called my references on 10/31.Anonymous User wrote:To the ATR(DC) people that have confirmed reference checks, when did you interview?
